Gorakhpur (11 April, 2026) : 

Professor Nandini Sahu, the Vice-Chancellor of Hindi University in Howrah, West Bengal, participated in the two-day ICSSR-sponsored National Seminar organized by the Department of English at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University. The seminar was titled “Tradition, Transmission, and Transformation: South Asia’s Oral and Indigenous Knowledge Systems in a Globalized World.” Professor Poonam Tandon, Vice-Chancellor of Gorakhpur University, inaugurated the event, serving as both the patron and the chairperson of the seminar.

The proceedings began with a powerful keynote address by Padma Shri awardee Professor G. N. Devy, followed by a special lecture delivered by Professor Sahu, who attended as the Guest of Honor during the inaugural session. To mark the occasion, a seminar souvenir containing conceptual notes on research papers regarding indigenous knowledge systems was released. Additionally, the ‘Hindi University Journal of Inter-disciplinary Studies’ (HUJIS) was launched in the presence of the distinguished guests.

The organization of this timely and meaningful seminar was led by Professor Sunita Murmu, Professor Gaurhari Behera, and Dr. Amod Kumar Rai of Gorakhpur University. Other expert speakers included Professor Alok Kumar, Professor Hemendra Chandalia, Professor M. C. Behera, Professor Anjali Daimari, Professor Om Prakash Dwivedi, Professor Veena Batra Kushwaha, Professor Panchanan Dalai, Professor Gomati Bodra Hembrom, Professor Rahul Patel, Professor Karan Singh, Professor Sadiq Ahmed, Ajit Kumar Kullu, and Dr. Ragini Kapoor.
